SURNIA ULULA
After snatching up a vole from beneath the snow, a Northern Hawk-Owl surveys the forest to find a place to cache its food for later. These interesting little owls are one of the least studied and most poorly understood birds in North America due to their low density populations and remote boreal-forest breeding range.
