WINTER WOLF TRACKS
I set out before sunrise to take photos around the frozen lake at my cabin, only hoping for nice light on some beautiful fresh snow. Instead, I was lucky enough to encounter a wolf as it was making its way to the far side of the lake over the ice. As I spotted it, it stopped for a brief moment and looked at me, then continued on his way, leaving behind his tracks in the snow. I didn't take any photos of him (this was at the beginning of dawn), but seeing a wolf like this was a rare and awesome sight. I tried setting up at a spot with my telephoto the next morning to see if the wolf would be back, but not surprisingly, I didn't see him.
